Welcome to the Joanna-Woodson Elementary Library!

I’m proud to serve as the media specialist here at JWE, where I get to teach, inspire, and support all of our K–5 students every single day.

I live in Woodruff with my husband and son, and I’ve been part of the world of elementary education since 1997. Over the years, I’ve taught 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, as well as Reading Recovery—experiences that have shaped my passion for literacy and helping students grow as confident readers and thinkers.

I am certified in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, and I hold a Master’s degree in Reading & Fluency, as well as a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of South Carolina.

In our Starbooks Library, my goal is to create a welcoming, inclusive, and joyful space where every child feels excited to learn, explore, and discover new books. I absolutely love working with all of our STARS across every grade level—and helping them shine as readers and leaders!
